As Yahoo 360 is closing, has anyone chosen a new blogging site?

Is everyone going to wait around to see what Yahoo comes up with this time, or is it time to go?

I have made a “back up” site at Multiply, just in case I don’t like the new product 360 will become.

Multiply is ok…360 as it is now is still so much better. Multiply relies on CCS codes for themes, which is slightly confusing to me.

Yahoo dropped their Photo Album program on June 20, 2007. They went to Flickr, which is another Yahoo program. I had 12 albums posted and transfered them to Photobucket, which is not a Yahoo program. You are suppose to be able to link this to Yahoo 360.

I looked at Flickr and didn’t like it. Cheesy and kind of difficult to work with.

Yahoo also had a blogging program called MASH, which I feel falls into the same catagory as Flicker. That catagory is CRAPPY, poorly designed and set up. MASH will be replacing a very good Yahoo program called 360.

If you are looking for a blog program, you might take a look at MULTIPLY.com, a non Yahoo program. I have been looking at it, but haven’t decided if it is for me or not, yet. You can post photos there also.

Everybody that I have talked with about Yahoo (myself included), seems to feel that Yahoo is on the way out of business, because of bad management and bad choices.

They had a very good photo program, and until they change their 360 over to MASH, they have an excellent blog program. Rather than tune up the good stuff and make it even better, Yahoo has choosen to drop the good stuff in favor of flashy garbage.

Hope this is helpful for you.

I didn’t really like the blogging part at MySpace, but that’s where I’ll have to do it, I guess. I also have blogging at Xanga, but lots more friends on MySpace. *sigh* it was nice having Yahoo hooked up to my IM and mail, groups and reviews, but no use hanging on to a sinking ship. I don’t think Facebook has blogging yet, but I find them a little difficult to work with at times. However; both MySpace and Facebook (in fact everyone else) is better at answering questions personally and promptly than Yahoo and 360. I used to have a blog at blogger.com, but can’t do as much with the profile page. *cries over losing my little avatar at Yahoo*

Yes, Multiply is the answer for me, though it is still in its formation, so it is an unknown quantity.
The heads of Yahoo 360 are incompetent charlatans who have no idea of organisation and loyalty to their best customers.
I met my girlfriend on there, but that is the only outstanding memory I shall retain of it.

Two sites I am Trying Out are Mash, and Multiply. Personally, I Think Multiply will be the best choice with ease of using.

    Have a Great Day!

Yes i am many people have started at a new site Multiply. It does seem to have a lot of the features of 360, only without a lot of the bugs and no customer service. You should give it a try.

I guess I’m going down with the ship , I will cling to 360 untill the bitter end , then go to my Multiply page . (SIGH)

Myspace has a more universal and bigger network. Also I like the way the bulletins delete theirselves after so long.

Q: Will the bugs be fixed on 360°?
A: No, we will no longer be fixing bugs related to 360°. We are putting all of our resources on building the new profile system
This is from the Yahoo 360 Team Blog

We will have to work around the bugs until our Yahoo new social network gets here in Jan.2008
”We will preserve your Yahoo! 360 blog content, profile photo, nickname, and friends lists during and after the transition We will provide the right tools to move your blog content; We will give you ample notice before this transition begins in early 2008.”
    Also from their blog
As of now there are more and more that are going to stay in with yahoo and l am in to stay

I’m chillin. I’m not moving until it’s impossible to use the service. Many people are going to Multiply.com though.

What other people call “closing”, I call “reconstruction.” I can deal with reconstruction just fine.

Yahoo has decided to combine it’s 3 services (360, Mash, and the regular Yahoo Members Profile) that basically accomplish the same thing (i.e. telling the world about yourself) into one service. They just haven’t pinned down the “how” of creating this “universal profile”.

So, if there are things that you do like about Yahoo! 360 that you would like to see remain in tact, you should state those aspects on the Y!360 team’s blog at .

Y!Mash it’s by invite only right now but soon will be opened to the yahoo community.
